Healthcare and protection for renters are hot topics on the campaign trail. NDP Leader Carla Chender says if elected the NDP would open 15 new doctor clinics in the first year to help ease the backlog of residents without access to a family doctor. Over the next three years, another 15 clinics would open. Liberal leader Zach Churchill introduced a slew of plans to protect renters including better rent control, establishing a provincial rent bank and establishing a rental tenancies enforcement unit. The Conservatives did not make any announcements but were out campaigning.
