The feds have tabled their HST Holiday Consumer Relief bill, but it does not include the promised $250 rebate cheque. The minority Liberals are forced to depend on another party to support the bill to get it passed, and NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh said he would not support the bill if the rebate cheques were not sent to everyone, including seniors and people with disabilities. The Liberal's plan for the rebates extended only to anyone who worked in 2023 and made less than $150,000. The NDP says if the rebate cheques are amended, they would help expedite that bill through the House of Commons.
