LIberals win majority government in byelections

For the first time in Canadian history Prime Minister Mark Carney’s Liberal government has switched from a minority to majority between general elections. The Liberals won all three seats that were up for grabs in yesterday's byelections in Toronto and Montreal giving them 174 seats in the house after five opposition MPs crossed the floor earlier this year.
