The amount of smell from the Lunenburg Wastewater Treatment Plant should be less. The town has finished the replacement of the organic materials for the biofilter. The organic materials provide a good habitat for aerobic bacteria that remove smelly gases from the air. The Town’s biofilter suppresses the odours that are a byproduct of the wastewater treatment process.
