If you are a resident of the Municipality of the District of Lunenburg, you no longer have to pay for a criminal record check. Earlier this month, council eliminated the cost of criminal record checks for employment as a way to reduce financial barriers for residents seeking work. If you require a criminal record check for work or volunteering, it can be obtained free of charge at your local RCMP detachment. You must take along two pieces of government-issued ID, and a self-addressed stamped envelope. Once completed, your criminal record check will be mailed back to you in the envelope you have provided.
