As the strike at some Nova Scotia long-term care homes enters its second month, workers from two more homes are on the picket lines. That brings the total number of homes with about 3,000 staff on strike to 34. Negotiations with the province were short-lived last week, lasting less than a day, with the province saying the union’s counteroffer wasn’t feasible. The union says living wages, retention and recruitment remain major sticking points in negotiations.
