While the price of rent is falling across most of Canada, that isn’t the case in Atlantic Canada. Rentals.ca and Urbanation reports while the average price of rent has fallen more than four per cent since this time last year, it has jumped 5.3 per cent in Atlantic Canada over the past year. Nationwide, Nova Scotia remained the most expensive province for renting apartments and condos. The report says that’s because of a higher concentration of listings within newer projects and a higher proportion of larger units in Nova Scotia. The average rent for an apartment in Nova Scotia is $2,360.
