The province and federal government is investing $300 million in new affordable homes. Ottawa’s share is $120 million under the Build Canada Homes agency. The majority of the 1,400 homes will be built in Shannon Park in Dartmouth. HRM will fast track the development approval process and reduce fees to support the project. Construction is expected to begin next year.
