UPDATE May, 21:
Fire crews responded to two fires yesterday, which are both now being held. A fire in East Port L’Hebert saw seven fire departments and the new fire protection aircraft respond. Another brush fire on Big Lots Road is also being held. That took response from four fire departments and the DNR.
Fire crews are on the scene of a rapidly spreading wildfire in the community of East Port L'Hebert. Assisting at the fire are the Department of Natural Resources, the RCMP along with seven fire departments. The new contracted forest protection aircraft are also responding. Residents in the area are being told to follow the direction of emergency personnel.
